Biography

Flourish Oyinlola (b. 2002) is a Nigerian contemporary visual artist whose geometric oil paintings explore identity, memory, and African heritage. Inspired by folklore and lived experiences, he creates mosaic-like figurative works bridging tradition and modernity. His works have been exhibited, collected, and recognized in Nigeria and internationally.

Artist Statement

My practice explore the connection between nature and humanity, using the beehive as a metaphor for women's strength, resilience, and nurturing spirit. Through geometric forms, I celebrate identity, community, and cultural memory, honoring the quiet yet enduring power that sustains life and connects generations.

Education

I gain my Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) degree in Fine and Applied Arts from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, where he established a strong foundation in painting, color theory, and conceptual development. Following his formal education, he further refined his professional practice under the mentorship of Nigerian artist Okunade Olamilekan, an experience that strengthened his technical discipline and expanded his understanding of visual storytelling.
