Biography

Adam Kłodziński (aka Mr.Soapski) is a Polish contemporary artist whose practice explores the intersection of painting, street culture, and surrealism. Working primarily with airbrush on large-scale canvases, he investigates how accidental forms can become emotionally charged portraits. His recent body of work, PAPER CUTZ, is based on the idea of discovering hidden faces within crumpled paper before translating them into paintings. Rather than inventing his subjects, he reveals figures already suggested by the folds, transforming ordinary material into psychological narratives. Adam lives and works in Poland.

Artist Statement

My work explores the relationship between chaos and identity. I am interested in the moment when random forms begin to resemble human presence. In my PAPER CUTZ series, each painting starts with a crumpled sheet of paper. I study its folds until a face or figure emerges naturally from the surface. The painting is therefore not an invention but a process of discovery. Using spray cans and airbrush I build subtle transitions of light and shadow that preserve the illusion already hidden within the paper. The resulting portraits explore vulnerability, resilience, transformation, and the emotional traces left by personal experience and contemporary life.
