Biography

Metalhead Melankolis is a writer and poet who has a strong attachment to the art of collage. Through absurd juxtapositions and layered visuals, he reflects on the chaos of modern life, identity, heartbreak, noise, faith, and the quiet battles of the mind. All his original works are archived in a workshop called ‘Secarik Kliping’. Since January 2025, he has been dedicated to pursuing collage art as a full-time professional practice, a journey that remains ongoing. His works combine meticulous construction with spontaneous visual interventions. Some have emerged from periods of profound personal struggle. Acrylic paint, oil pastel, HVS paper, markers, and an unreasonable amount of magazine cutouts remain the primary tools of his practice.

Artist Statement

Collage is a form of therapy for dealing with my mental health struggles. When I cut up old magazines or scattered newspapers I find on the street and turn them into a collage, I find something deeply sentimental in that process. I feel calm and focused, and in those moments the world seems to slow down. The waves of triggers that usually bring my depression back feel like they fade away, dissolving with each breath as I work on the collage.
