Biography

Artist Biography Diana Arutyunyan is a Dubai-based abstract artist working primarily with oil on canvas. Her practice is rooted in intuitive painting, exploring themes of inner transformation, energy, movement, and emotional states through layered textures, dynamic forms, and expressive color compositions. Originally coming from a creative background outside the traditional art world, she developed her artistic language through independent practice and experimentation. Her work combines spontaneity and contemplation, creating immersive visual spaces that invite emotional and personal interpretation. Diana has participated in several group exhibitions in Dubai, including collaborations with Intent Gallery, Cross Borders Gallery, Reem Art Gallery and Dubai International Art Centre.

Artist Statement

Artist Statement My work explores the connection between inner emotional states and visual form. Through abstraction, movement, texture, and layered color fields, I aim to express transformation, tension, release, and the invisible energy that shapes human experience. I work intuitively, allowing compositions to evolve organically during the painting process. Spirals, light forms, contrasts, and flowing structures often appear naturally in my work as symbols of movement, balance, and personal evolution. Rather than illustrating specific narratives, I create atmospheric spaces that encourage reflection, emotional resonance, and individual interpretation.
