Birds Eye View is a cluster of 48 small works that celebrate nature through close observation and repetition. Each bird becomes a fragment of a larger whole, revealing subtle details, textures, and variations often overlooked. Seen together, the works create a quiet rhythm, reflecting the richness of nature in its smallest details and the beauty found in multiplicity.

Forty-eight small bird studies are arranged as a strict grid, turning individual observation into a collective field where repetition makes difference, rather than sameness, the principal subject.
- Shalu describes her practice as moving between abstraction and figuration through chance-led mark making. Here, recognisable bird bodies repeatedly emerge from irregular pools, streaks and gaps.
- In the supplied photograph, six rows of eight pale-mounted sheets hold mostly solitary, compressed forms. Their shifting postures and brown, blue, grey and white marks create a measured rhythm, while the grid suggests an archive or taxonomy that never settles into uniformity.
