This collection is the result of my exploration and reflection on the independent potential of the language of painting a place where painting is released from the task of representing the external world and enters an autonomous realm. In these artworks, non-representational abstraction is not the elimination of reality but the opening of new horizon for emotion and thought. For me, painting is a field of freedom; freedom from imagery, from fixed narratives, and from everything that confines the language of painting to representation. This freedom makes possible the emergence of structure that can only exist within painting itself independent of any external reference. Each artwork evolves through the act of painting, and meaning emerges through the encounter between the artwork and the viewer. "After Representation" is an invitation to experience painting directly; a space in which color, line, texture, rhythm, and movement are used not to describe objects but to create a world beyond.
Why collect this work?
Large colour zones collide through ragged overlaps, turning the compact sheet into a study of how painted areas claim, divide, and unsettle space.
- The artist profile reports Tari’s sustained academic study of abstraction, minimalism, and the philosophy of painting. Her stated aim to move beyond representation is credible here because no single depicted subject governs the composition.
- In the photograph, red marks rise diagonally from the lower left as yellow occupies the centre. Grey bears down from above, while blue is compressed into the upper right, creating several competing directions.
- The documented acrylic on paper allows opaque fields and broken coverage. White passages read alternately as painted forms, separations, or exposed intervals, although the photograph cannot establish their layering or physical texture.
- At 29 by 42 cm, the work concentrates broad spatial conflict within a modest format. It belongs in accounts of abstraction that treat colour not as atmosphere, but as a means of constructing pressure and division.
