This collection is the result of my exploration and reflection on the independent potential of the language of painting a place where painting is released from the task of representing the external world and enters an autonomous realm. In these artworks, non-representational abstraction is not the elimination of reality but the opening of new horizon for emotion and thought. For me, painting is a field of freedom; freedom from imagery, from fixed narratives, and from everything that confines the language of painting to representation. This freedom makes possible the emergence of structure that can only exist within painting itself independent of any external reference. Each artwork evolves through the act of painting, and meaning emerges through the encounter between the artwork and the viewer. "After Representation" is an invitation to experience painting directly; a space in which color, line, texture, rhythm, and movement are used not to describe objects but to create a world beyond.
Why collect this work?
Blue-appearing strokes curve around dark intervals and scattered white marks, making the composition feel like a force gathering, breaking apart, and repeatedly changing direction.
- Tari states that the 2026 series pursues painting freed from fixed imagery and narrative. Here, that intention is supported by marks that organize movement without resolving into a depicted subject.
- In the photograph, diagonals converge near the lower centre while upright strokes press along the left edge. White passages interrupt this circulation, creating sharp pauses within the blue and dark structure.
- Catalogued as acrylic on paper at 29 × 42 cm, the work combines broad areas with opaque accents. The compact sheet concentrates abrupt shifts of direction and density.
- This painting sharpens a productive tension within non-representational abstraction: its marks resist fixed identification, yet their sweeping arrangement can still suggest currents, spray, or bodily motion.
