In creating "The Memes," I wanted to capture the playful spirit of reinterpretation and the joy of seeing the world through a lens of humor. Inspired by Maurizio Cattelan's "The Comedian," this piece invites you to pause and reflect on how we perceive art and meaning. The bold red background serves as a vibrant canvas, amplifying the absurdity and delight of a banana taped to the wall, or perhaps, a face donning sunglasses. Working with Procreate and Canva to create this digital collage, I focused on the textures and contrasts to evoke curiosity and laughter. The industrial duct tape against the soft, ripe banana creates a tactile tension, while the vivid colors energize the composition. This duality encourages viewers to explore their interpretations, whether they see a simple fruit or a whimsical face. I hope "The Memes" brings a smile to your face and a moment of lightheartedness.
