Biography

Born in Damascus to a Syrian father and a Romanian mother. I am a self-taught artist and the founder of Romania’s first art gallery dedicated exclusively to digital art. My initial engagement with digital art began in 1998 through the use of Microsoft Paint, I continue to regard the original computer hardware as an important archival artifact. My first encounters with street art followed in 2002, when I began producing graffiti and tags in Damascus and Craiova. In the field of cryptoart, my practice became explicitly multidisciplinary in the first quarter of 2021, encompassing pixel art, digital collage, AI, glitch aesthetics, and photography.

Artist Statement

My practice originates in a sustained effort to articulate emotional states and lived experience through digital and post-digital media. My work moves fluidly between raw photographic material captured in the war-zones suburbs of Damascus and compositions informed by Japanese video game iconography and anime-derived visual languages. These seemingly disparate references are brought into dialogue through a contemporary digital sensibility that reflects both personal memory and global visual culture. Central to my practice is the production of memes and digital collages, which function as both cultural artifacts and critical tools. Through these works, I examines and reframes the emerging neo-state of contemporary Romanian culture, employing humor, fragmentation, and remix as strategies for social observation and commentary.

HOMAGE to Constantin Brancusi at Craiova Museum of Art 2023 The exhibition juxtaposed digital artworks with a chronological narrative of Brâncuși’s life, provided by the Centre Pompidou to the Museum, setting a new standard for digital artistic expression.
