"Depth of Rhodes" is an abstract meditation on the submerged world of the Mediterranean — where light fractures through layers of water, and memory dissolves into color. Built up through dense, textured surfaces and a restrained palette of deep indigo, ultramarine, and luminous cerulean, the painting evokes the physical sensation of sinking beneath the surface: pressure, silence, and the slow reveal of hidden depths. The heavily layered composition mimics the stratified nature of sea and stone — each brushstroke and palette-knife mark becoming a geological record of movement and time. Dark currents of navy and violet pulse beneath brighter, almost phosphorescent blues, suggesting the tension between what is visible and what remains concealed.
