“After the Dream” grew from that fragile moment between sleeping and waking, when a feeling remains even as the images that created it begin to dissolve. I wanted to hold onto that quiet uncertainty, the sense that something intimate has just happened within us, yet cannot be fully named. I built the surface in veils of blue, lavender, blush, and muted earth tones, allowing forms to appear and disappear beneath layers of acrylic. The gestures move like fragments of memory: some soft and atmospheric, others more insistent, as if the dream is resisting its own disappearance. Scraped passages and textured marks preserve the rhythm of searching, while areas of pale light offer pauses where the mind can rest. The composition does not resolve into a single image because dreams rarely do. Instead, it invites intuition to complete what is unfinished. I hope this work creates a space for viewers to meet their own half-remembered stories. I want it to feel both calming and slightly elusive, like waking with an emotion you cannot explain, but somehow know is true.
