Sunrise in Jabel Jais 🌄, Ras Al Khaimah, UAE 🇦🇪 ❤️ Chasing sunrises and hugging sunsets… this is what I love the most! I’m no psychologist, but I believe our most fondest memories are etched to moments that are cherished during sunrises and sunsets… like the beach-side walk during sunrise .. for some the moments are poetry, and others it’s warm home cooked meals, and for me this is how I yarn the memories.. through painting .. through colors.. through mountains, camping and trekking and capturing clouds and waves. The moments we LIVE!
Why collect this work?
Stacked mountain silhouettes compress Jebel Jais into a compact emblem, while the broken upper band makes sunrise appear less as illumination than as a boundary between land and sky.
- Maryam identifies landscape painting as a means of preserving memories of places where she has lived and travelled. That stated purpose supports reading this simplified view as recollection rather than topographic record.
- In the photograph, overlapping blue ridges rise above a mottled foreground. Irregular gold-toned passages interrupt the blue field overhead, countering the horizontal calm with a shifting, porous edge.
- The catalogue records acrylic and texture paste on canvas. Together, these media make possible opaque colour fields and raised material, although the photograph cannot establish the work’s exact colour or surface relief.
- At 20 × 20 cm, the painting turns a large mountain site into a concentrated test of recognition: layered contours, rather than descriptive detail, carry its sense of place.
