**What Remains** explores the traces left behind by time, memory, and transformation. Built through layers of acrylic paint and mixed media, the work investigates how materials can function as silent archives, carrying evidence of use, change, and persistence. The composition combines contrasting textures and colors—deep black surfaces interrupted by fragments of white, blue, and red—to evoke a landscape of accumulation and erosion. The layered forms suggest remnants of experiences that have been altered, displaced, or partially forgotten, yet continue to exist through their material presence. Rather than depicting a specific place or event, the work reflects on the relationship between memory and materiality. The physical build-up of surfaces mirrors the way personal and collective memories are formed: fragmented, layered, and continuously reshaped over time. Through experimentation with texture, compression, and abstraction, the artwork invites viewers to consider what remains after moments of change, loss, or transition. It offers a space for reflection on resilience, impermanence, and the hidden narratives embedded within everyday materials.
