"Remaining Current" emerged from my reflections on the subtle yet profound ripples left by significant events. As the immediate chaos fades, what remains is an undercurrent of emotions and memories, shaping our perceptions in ways we might not fully grasp. In this piece, I used layers of blue and gray to symbolize those hidden currents, ever-present, yet not always visible. As I worked, my gestures became a dance of spontaneity, allowing intersecting lines to form organically, much like the unpredictable flow of feelings and thoughts that linger after the storm has passed. The bursts of red and white are the sparks of memory and emotion, cutting through the calm, reminding us of the event’s enduring influence. I hope that viewers find a space for reflection within this work, a moment to consider how past events continue to shape our present and future. My intention is for "Remaining Current" to serve as a reminder that even when the surface appears still, the currents beneath are alive, guiding us in unseen ways.
