"Recovery Room" is a deeply personal exploration of the journey through healing. When I began this piece, I was inspired by the notion that recovery is not a linear path but a dance of fragility and resilience. The soft pinks and blues intertwine, clashing yet harmonizing, embodying the delicate balance of vulnerability and strength. In creating this work, I layered cement and acrylic paint to capture the passage of time. Each layer represents a moment of understanding, a step towards accepting imperfections. The textures are intentionally raw and unrefined, mirroring the messy and honest nature of inner healing. The chaotic gestures speak to the doubts and uncertainties that accompany this process, yet they also whisper of hope and renewal. I hope viewers see "Recovery Room" as an invitation to embrace recovery as a shared journey. It's not about returning to what was but finding a new way forward. May this piece offer solace and a reminder that healing, though imperfect, is a beautiful and ongoing transformation.
