"Forced to Support" emerged from a deep contemplation of human resilience and the burdens we silently carry. I wanted to capture the essence of being overwhelmed, yet enduring. The black lines form a towering structure, a metaphor for the human body in a defensive stance, bracing against an unseen weight. This posture speaks to the fragility we often mask with stoic exteriors. The red splashes are intentional, symbolizing the pressure points where the strain is most intense. They are vivid reminders of the emotional and physical toll that burdens can impose, yet they also highlight the raw, undeniable life force within us. The interplay of ink and pastels creates a texture that mirrors the complexity of this struggle, both gritty and delicate. Through this piece, I hope to evoke a sense of shared experience. We all bear burdens, and often, it is not our strength that keeps us standing, but the absence of alternatives. My wish is for viewers to find a sense of solidarity in this reflection on endurance, recognizing their own resilience in the face of life's relentless demands.
