In this painting I present Lady Gaga as an almost mythical figure. Her face is built up from facets, as though her identity were many-layered. Soft yet powerful colours flow across her skin, while butterflies float around her. These butterflies do not seem merely decorative: they symbolise transformation, freedom and vulnerability. The elegant pose, the dramatic make-up and the luxurious white of her clothing give her a regal presence, but her gaze remains human and sensitive. The work captures her both as a pop icon and as a searching soul.Her life reads as a story of continuous metamorphosis.
