Artist Statement

MikoArt is the alias of digital art artist Miechel Kockelkoren, born and raised in Mechelen, South Limburg (NL). Fueled by my versatile creativity, a constant quest to create, and my sense of color and image, I eventually found my own individual creative expression in designing large-format computer paintings. The artworks created under the alias MikoArt are multi-colored computer paintings that are physically created using Liquid Gloss® on 4mm AluDibond and Certified Art Giclée™ on museum-quality canvas. The order, from delivery of the paintings to shipping, takes approximately 21 business days. Before discovering the creative possibilities of the computer, I primarily painted with acrylic paint on canvas and sheet material. I also practiced pen and watercolor. The artworks from that period mostly depict landscapes, half-timbered houses, and village scenes. My active career was primarily in the graphic arts sector, working as a graphic designer and graphic manager. Starting in 2012, I had more free time and focused on digital painting. I draw my inspiration from all the beauty and good things life has to offer. But my imagination, my dreams, the environment, nature, the World Wide Web, and all other impressions that provide me with ideas, color impressions, and images for my digital paintings also serve as a source of inspiration for new artworks. Experimenting with all kinds of software programs, I gradually gained a knack for digital painting. And with each new artwork, I explore the limits of digital possibilities. My expertise and experience in the graphic design process are unmistakably present in my artwork. This influence is evident not only in the composition and use of color, but also in the focus on detail. I build my digital paintings in multiple layers, allowing viewers to see through the colorful layers, giving the works a unique color depth and dimension. Blank file - My digital paintings are often created from a blank file on the screen. Until a physical MikoArt artwork is created, there is essentially only a digital "original." Using various computer programs, I design, draw, and paint the digital design into a multicolored image, which is then further processed into a digital painting. The unique, one-to-one, physical final results of my artworks vary in style from design, freehand, figurative, abstract, surreal, to decorative. Let your space speak with MikoArt - Each artwork is an expression of my passion for art and my experimentation with photographic and digital techniques. These allow me to create dynamic and colorful works of art. The spontaneous and random effects I use bring my vibrant compositions to life. Each artwork is born from a passion for creation and an intense experiment in which I combine colors, light effects, shadows, textures, etc. in layers to create a unique MikoArt artwork that tells a story. MikoArt-Liquid Gloss® - The artworks are created using state-of-the-art techniques and the highest quality materials. The artwork is printed on high-quality Fuji Crystal DP II Ultra HD photo paper, permanently bonded to a 4mm thick aluminum dibond backing, and protected with a 3mm thick layer of high-quality Liquid Gloss® epoxy resin. This finish not only gives the artwork an intense color and 3D experience but also a refined and luxurious appearance. It also guarantees years of durability and resistance to ultraviolet radiation. If a frame is added to the artwork, it is integrated within the artwork. MikoArt-GicléeCanvas - For my Giclée canvas, I use an improved process with the latest generation of Epson printers. For my high-resolution inkjet prints, I use odorless, solvent-free Epson Ultrachrome® RS resin inks. These guarantee saturated, vibrant colors of unparalleled quality on my canvas. To achieve this level of quality, I also use Super Resolution, ultraHD, and automatic image optimization. The matte surface of the canvas gives a vibrant effect and the new cotton blend for the canvas ensures even more intense color reproduction and a natural look. MikoArt Shadow Gap Frame - The artwork is ready to hang. It comes with a black shadow gap frame, 40 mm wide and 30 mm deep, with a metal hanger mounted on the back, allowing for easy hanging. MikoArt Artwork - A valuable investment! The value of my artwork has been officially established and recognized by J.A. Akoun France, the international authority on valuation and information within the international art market since 1985. A minimum value of €3250.00 has been established by J.A. Akoun France, making it a valuable investment. The Artist Value Certification is issued by Artmajeur, an art gallery located in Montpellier, France. MikoArt Artwork Certificate - No mass-produced art or reprints. Each artwork I create is unique, one of a kind. This means you are the sole owner of that specific MikoArt artwork. Each artwork comes with a certificate of authenticity and features my signature on the front. And on the back, hand-signed again with a felt-tip pen and provided with the unique artwork number. Only with this information on the back can you be assured of the authenticity of a MikoArt artwork. MikoArt Portfolio - With over 250 unique one-to-one artworks in my portfolio, each with its own story and character, you'll always find one that suits your style and/or preference.
