In this painting I present a tender and affectionate moment between two small children, captured in the recognisable style of poetic street art. Against a weathered wall, in a narrow street gleaming with wet paving, two young children sit facing one another. Their bodies are small and round, their postures relaxed and open. Together they share a large, bright pink candyfloss almost bigger than they are. The soft pink contrasts strongly with the otherwise sober tones of black, grey and warm ochre, so that the sweet becomes a symbol of innocence, joy and shared happiness. The children look at one another with a mixture of curiosity and delight. Their hands touch as they hold the candyfloss, a small but powerful gesture expressing connection and trust. Above them small pink hearts float, subtle but unmistakable, as a visual translation of pure, unconditional love — not romantic, but childlike and sincere.
