In this painting, I present a powerful optical illusion in which a black-and-white checkerboard pattern is distorted into a deep, spinning funnel. The surface appears to break open, sucking the viewer in. At the center, an intense red area glows, acting as an energetic heart or core, contrasting sharply with the stark black-and-white surrounding it. From this core rises a spiral, cone-like structure, also composed of the checkerboard motif. This shape is reminiscent of a spinning screw, a vortex, or even a DNA-like structure, giving the image a scientific and futuristic charge. The rigid geometry becomes dynamic through the rotation and the perspective distortion, suggesting movement and depth. The whole evokes feelings of tension, concentration, and energy: order (the checkerboard) and chaos (the rotation and suction) coexist. The painting powerfully plays with perception and makes the viewer aware of how quickly solid forms can transform into a hypnotic, almost infinite space.
