In this painting, I present a tight, geometric interplay of four open squares that together form a larger whole. Each quadrant appears to tilt slightly and gain depth through subtle shadows and transparent layers, giving the whole an almost three-dimensional appearance. The diagonal bands of color—in shades of blue, sand, olive green, and warm brown—flow rhythmically through the shapes and curve along the edges. This creates an optical movement: the eye is constantly led from the outside in and back again, as if the squares are open to another space. The composition balances between order and illusion. The symmetry provides calm and structure, while the shifting lines and overlapping planes create tension and dynamism. The painting evokes associations with architecture, folds in paper, or open windows revealing different perspectives. All in all, the work exudes a subdued, almost meditative energy, in which color, form, and depth converge into a refined, abstract whole.
