In this painting, I present a highly symmetrical, abstract composition reminiscent of a stylized flower or a mandala. Eight elongated, leaf-like shapes radiate from the exact center, creating a calm yet powerful radial structure. The use of color is restrained yet refined: warm orange hues contrast with cool blue-gray planes. These colors flow softly into each other through subtle shadows and gradients, giving the whole an almost three-dimensional, velvety depth. Small diamond-shaped accents reinforce the rhythm and order within the pattern. The strict symmetry and repetition evoke a sense of balance, tranquility, and harmony, while the warm glow of the orange gives the work vibrancy and elegance. The painting exudes a decorative, almost meditative quality.
Why collect this work?
Eight-way radial symmetry concentrates the composition into a bright central point, turning repeated leaf-like forms into a controlled optical pulse rather than a descriptive flower.
- The artist profile identifies MikoArt as Miechel Kockelkoren’s label for digital painting. Here, digital construction clarifies the exact repetition and mirrored alignment that govern the image.
- In the supplied photograph, orange bands alternate with blue-grey fields while small diamonds mark the surrounding intervals. Soft tonal transitions suggest depth, but the rigid symmetry continually returns attention to the flat pattern.
- The catalogue records a photographic print mounted on 3 mm Alu-Dibond and covered with 2 to 3 mm resin. This layered support may sharpen colour and add reflectivity, although surface gloss and physical texture cannot be confirmed from the photograph.
- Dated 2017 and measuring 80 × 80 cm, the work is a focused example of how digital precision can combine ornamental order with spatial illusion. Its interest lies in that tension between fixed geometry and apparent expansion.
