In this painting, I present a powerful example of graphic abstraction in black and white, where movement and symmetry take center stage. From the center, a rotating structure unfolds, like the blades of a windmill or a mechanical eye slowly turning. The white lines cut sharply through the deep black background, forming repetitive, diamond-like, and leaf-like shapes. These patterns seem to multiply as they fan outward, creating a hypnotic sense of rotation. The lines vary subtly in thickness and direction, creating an illusion of depth and flow. Some shapes seem to emerge, while others recede into the black, as if the image were simultaneously breathing and pulsating. The fine, short lines between the larger shapes reinforce this effect and give the whole an almost vibrant energy. The absence of color places the emphasis entirely on contrast, rhythm, and structure. The painting balances between order and movement: strictly geometric in design, yet organic in experience. It evokes associations with optical art (op art), but also with natural phenomena such as wind, feathers, or vortices. The work invites the viewer to let their eye revolve around the center, demonstrating how simplicity in color can lead to maximum intensity in form and experience.
