Praise Agunbiade also known as MasterArt is a Nigerian mixed media artist whose practice centers on portraiture, identity, and human emotion. Working with denim, paint, and layered materials, he transforms everyday fabrics into expressive artworks. His work explores resilience, vulnerability, and shared experiences, inviting viewers to connect with the emotional stories woven into each composition.Artist Statement
My work explores the emotions people often hide behind everyday life. Using denim, paint, and mixed media, I transform familiar materials into portraits of resilience, vulnerability, and identity. Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) in Fine and Applied Arts Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, Oyo State, Nigeria 2020 to 2025 During my studies, I developed a strong foundation in drawing, painting, art history, sculpture and mixed media practice. My training strengthened my technical skills, critical thinking, and research methods while encouraging experimentation with materials. My practice evolved into a distinctive approach that combines acrylic paint with recycled denim on canvas. Through this process, I investigate human emotion, identity, resilience, memory, and shared experiences.
