“Everyone Follows Something” began with a memory of the daily market in Babolsar, a place where ordinary life gathers in all its warmth, noise, contradiction, and tenderness. I wanted to preserve not only the market itself, but the feeling of encountering a person whose quiet presence carries a world of stories. I placed the seated vendor among herbs, eggplants, chickens, woven baskets, and hanging brooms, allowing these familiar details to become signs of work, survival, and belonging. His red shirt brings a steady human warmth to the worn textures and earthy colors around him. On the cabinet behind him, symbols of identity appear beside marks left by the city, suggesting that everyone carries something they believe in, follow, protect, or hope to be recognized through. The unfinished edges and handwritten notes keep the image close to memory, where some moments remain vivid while others dissolve. Through this piece, I hope viewers feel invited into a real, lived corner of Babolsar and pause without judgment. I want the work to hold space for dignity, individuality, and the many forms of belonging that quietly coexist in everyday life.
