"White Horse" emerged from my deep admiration for the grace and strength embodied by these magnificent creatures. I wanted to capture a moment of poised energy, the kind that hints at both power and serenity. This sculpture is a celebration of freedom and elegance, a testament to the spirit that horses inspire in us.
Why collect this work?
Two lifted limbs, balanced against two planted hooves, turn the horse’s pose into a carefully suspended interval rather than a fixed emblem of strength.
- Kuzica describes his aim as combining power with serenity. Here, that intention is supported by the contrast between the upright neck and the uneven, active placement of the legs, although the pose reads as controlled rather than free-running.
- In the photograph, one foreleg bends high while the opposite hind hoof lifts just above the base. The remaining legs bear the figure diagonally, creating a measured forward cadence; the hanging tail and level torso check that motion.
- The documented medium is silver-electroplated white bronze. Such plating can carry light across broad anatomical modelling while darker recesses articulate the mane, tail and joints, making mass and detail register differently.
- Without rider, harness or setting, the sculpture concentrates attention on how an animal’s movement is constructed from balance. It provides a concrete case for comparing autonomous animal sculpture with equestrian monuments centered on human authority.
