In creating this piece, I wanted to evoke a sense of introspection and connection. I hope that those who encounter "IN" feel a stirring within, a reminder of their own journey and the beauty found in moments of introspection and release. This work is an invitation to pause, reflect, and embrace the profound strength found in vulnerability.
Why collect this work?
A compact, folded figure is reduced to a continuous contour, making inwardness legible through posture while leaving the body poised between human likeness and abstraction.
- Kuzica states that IN concerns introspection, release and vulnerability. That intention is carried here without facial expression, principally through the figure’s compressed anatomy and backward-tilting upper body.
- In the photograph, bent lower forms establish a broad base while the torso narrows, rises and opens into rounded projections. Bright and dark reflections interrupt the silhouette, making its orientation appear changeable.
- The catalogue identifies silver electro-plated bronze and dimensions of 10.5 by 14.5 cm. The plated surface permits strong reflections that can visually soften the bronze form’s mass and obscure anatomical boundaries.
