Earth does not forget everything. For years, the sun’s heat falls upon the land, leaving behind layers of time, memory, and transformation. Where Fire Remembers captures that same process on canvas. Layer upon layer of oil paint is built by hand using a palette knife, hand-texturing, and time. Months of the artist’s process are embedded within the surface of the work. Beneath the warmth of ochre, copper, and burnt umber, a trace of fire remains — a final light that never completely fades. This is not simply a work intended to fill a wall. Its textured surface and shifting layers reveal something new with every encounter. Like the earth, we do not forget everything. Some memories remain beneath the surface. Some inner fires never go out.
