Colorful Cactus 2 by Irina Anis Explore Mondoir Studio Medium: Oil on canvas Dimensions: 30 x 30 cm Year: 2026 Price: $240.00 USD Status: available Colorful Cactus celebrates the expressive power of color within a simple natural form. Through vibrant tones and textured brushwork, the cactus becomes more than a plant - it transforms into a symbol of resilience, warmth, and quiet strength. The composition balances playfulness and structure, bringing energy and character to the space it inhabits Why collect this work?Overlapping pads and clipped contours make the cactus read less as a botanical specimen than as a dense field of repeated, irregular forms. Anis states that she balances observation with feeling and seeks emotional warmth. Here, brisk contrasts and simplified forms pursue that aim without relying on botanical precision. In the photograph, pale blue-green pads stack diagonally across a nearly white ground. Orange flower-like tips punctuate the edges, while scattered dark marks suggest spines and give visual resistance to the buoyant palette. The catalogue identifies oil on canvas. Broad, directional strokes separate adjacent pads and interrupt their contours, making the plant appear assembled through painted gestures. The photograph cannot confirm exact colour or physical texture. The catalogue records a compact 30 by 30 centimetre square. Within that constraint, branching growth is compressed rather than isolated, making the painting a focused study of how repetition and chromatic variation shift one motif between cactus, bouquet and abstract pattern.
