Blue Landscape by Irina Anis Explore Mondoir Studio Medium: Oil on canvas Dimensions: 80 x 80 cm Year: 2026 Price: $1700.00 USD Status: available Blue Landscape explores the atmosphere of a landscape through a predominantly blue palette, evoking a sense of calm, depth, and quiet reflection. Variations of tone and texture create a subtle emotional rhythm, inviting the viewer into a space of stillness and contemplation. Why collect this work?Broad, interlocking silhouettes turn a lake-and-mountain view into stacked bands, holding expansive distance within a deliberately compressed, almost emblematic landscape. Anis states that she translates atmosphere into emotional warmth. Here, that aim is tested through simplified natural forms rather than descriptive detail, producing calm without making the scene entirely passive. In the photograph, pale cloud shapes and a pink horizon stretch laterally, while the dark branching tree at right cuts sharply across the view. This asymmetry gives the otherwise settled composition a firm visual anchor. The documented oil on canvas is arranged as mostly opaque, bounded colour areas with little visible modelling. Oil’s capacity for coverage supports these clean divisions, allowing hue and contour to carry depth. At 80 by 80 centimetres, the square format resists the panoramic convention of landscape. The work provides a focused case for considering how contemporary landscape painting can exchange naturalistic recession for graphic compression.
