Grace by Faith Gaufo Explore Mondoir Studio Medium: Acrylic on canvas, with oil pastel and gold leaf Dimensions: 120 x 80 cm Year: 2024 Price: $2053.00 USD Status: available “Grace Through Adversity,” part of the Cerulean Collection, symbolizes resilience and femininity. A woman draped in vibrant blue lies among blooming irises, representing hope and renewal. The golden background reflects her inner strength and grace in facing life’s challenges. This piece is framed in black wood with a shadow gap style and is ready to hang. Why collect this work?A reclining figure meets the viewer’s gaze from behind a dense band of irises, turning apparent repose into a poised tension between exposure and self-possession. The artist profile situates Faith Gaufo’s practice in figurative and floral painting. Their conjunction here allows the flowers to structure the portrait rather than merely accompany it.In the photograph, saturated blue drapery directs attention diagonally toward the face, while upright purple irises block the lower body. A rigid gold rectangle contains the otherwise flowing forms.Catalogue metadata records acrylic, oil pastel and gold leaf on canvas. This combination establishes material contrast as part of the work, although the photograph cannot confirm which marks belong to each medium or how the leaf responds to changing light. The catalogue description associates the figure, flowers and gold with resilience and renewal. The painting is especially useful for testing that symbolism against its less settled formal tension between reclining stillness, direct eye contact and partial concealment.
