Alles Mögliche (Everything Possible) 2026 · Acrylic on canvas · 100 × 80 cm Alles Mögliche unfolds as a playful landscape of possibilities, where paths, figures, symbols and seemingly unrelated events coexist without forming a single narrative. A dotted line winds through the composition without revealing a clear beginning or destination. A ladder, an open doorway, solitary figures and scattered signs invite the viewer to discover connections of their own. Soft blues, yellows, whites and pinks lend the painting an atmosphere of openness and lightness. Inspired by the question of life, the universe and everything, the work approaches philosophical uncertainty with curiosity and humour rather than solemnity. Hidden references, including a familiar number and a tiny mouse, reward attentive observation without dictating how the painting should be understood. Part of ELIZA Leopold's Gedankenraum cycle, the painting reflects a central idea of her artistic philosophy: art does not have to provide answers. Sometimes its greatest possibility lies in keeping the questions alive. “Perhaps the lightness of life lies in not having to answer every question completely.” Original artwork · ELIZA Leopold · Master Edition 3.0 · Work No. 012
Why collect this work?
A wandering dashed line turns Alles Mögliche into a map that withholds both destination and a single governing scale.
- Leopold states that her paintings begin with questions and keep interpretation open; here, that aim is supported by signs that remain legible yet resist a unified story.
- In the photograph, tiny figures, a ladder, doorway, flags, plant and circular forms occupy separate ledges and hazy fields. The route loosely connects them, but its breaks and forks make sequence uncertain.
- Catalogued as acrylic on canvas, the painting combines broad, translucent-looking fields with concise dark marks. Acrylic permits these different kinds of articulation, though the photograph cannot confirm surface texture or layering.
- Placed beside maps, diagrams or narrative painting, this work sharpens a useful question: when does a line explain relationships, and when does it merely suggest that relationships might exist?
