NOTe FOR YOU is a layered mixed-media work that explores perception, message, and emotional residue through fragmentation and contradiction. Using Diogo Landô’s signature approach, where collage, painterly gesture, photography, and graphic elements collide, the piece unfolds differently depending on the viewer’s position and attention. Within the composition, fragmented phrases emerge and dissolve: HAVE A NICE DAY, ALWAYS, YOU CAN. These affirmations coexist with imagery of flowers, graffiti markings, and references to classical sculpture, creating a dialogue between tenderness and disruption, permanence and ephemerality. The floral elements suggest fragility and growth, while graffiti introduces urgency, instinct, and raw expression. Classical references anchor the work in time, acting as a silent counterpoint to contemporary visual noise. From the exterior, the dominant reading becomes NOT FOR YOU. A graffitied “E” intervenes, transforming refusal into intention—NOTE FOR YOU. A torn paper element partially reveals the phrase ALWAYS REMEMBER YOU ARE…, deliberately left incomplete. The absence becomes the message itself, inviting the viewer to project meaning, memory, or self-definition into the void. Encased in an acrylic box, the artwork reinforces the tension between protection and distance, visibility and separation. NOTe FOR YOU is not a closed statement, but an open emotional structure. One that oscillates between intimacy and denial, encouragement and exclusion. Ultimately asking who the message is for, and what remains when words fall short.
