Layers of torn paper, textures, and colour are assembled to build a dense visual surface where image and text coexist, overlap, and partially obscure one another. DON’T OVER THINK presents a fragmented portrait interrupted by typography, symbols, and rhythmic graphic lines. The face is divided and reassembled through vertical cuts, forcing the viewer to actively reconstruct the image rather than passively observe it. Eyes and mouth emerge through layers of visual noise, suggesting a state of tension between clarity and confusion, presence and overload. The phrase DON’T OVER THINK, applied in a direct and expressive gesture, operates both as instruction and contradiction. It cuts through the composition with urgency, echoing the mental pressure it seeks to resolve. Organic elements, such as butterflies and fluid lines, introduce a counterbalance—suggesting intuition, transformation, and release. The work reflects on the difficulty of remaining instinctive in a visually and mentally saturated environment, where thought can become an obstacle rather than a tool.
