Original Oil on Drawing Canvas | 80 × 60 cm | One-of-a-Kind Artwork Not every work of art is created to decorate a space. Some are created to transform the way a space feels. This original oil painting invites the viewer into a world where time slows down and light gently embraces shadow, creating a quiet symphony of beauty. Every flower tells its own story—from delicate buds symbolizing hope and new beginnings to blossoms in full bloom that celebrate life's fleeting yet extraordinary moments. Rich layers of oil paint and expressive brushwork create remarkable depth and texture that can only be experienced in an original artwork. As natural light changes throughout the day, the painting reveals new tones, subtle reflections, and hidden emotions, making every viewing a unique experience. The dialogue between luminous white blossoms and the mysterious, atmospheric background reflects the timeless balance between light and darkness, fragility and strength, memory and renewal. It is not merely a floral composition—it is a poetic meditation on the beauty of existence. Created entirely by hand, this artwork carries the unmistakable presence of the artist in every brushstroke. No digital process can replicate its texture, depth, or emotional resonance. It is a singular original that will never exist in another identical form. Designed for discerning collectors, this painting offers more than visual beauty—it offers atmosphere, presence, and lasting emotional value. Whether displayed in a refined private residence, a luxury interior, or a distinguished art collection, it becomes a focal point that quietly captivates and rewards prolonged contemplation. For serious collectors, true value lies not only in technique but in an artwork's ability to evoke emotion long after the first impression. This painting possesses that rare quality: the power to remain unforgettable. Why collect this work?
Blooming roses rise through blue-white forms that read as snow, making seasonal contradiction, rather than botanical description alone, the painting’s organising idea.
- Meštrović states that his practice combines recognisable subjects with abstract environments. Here, clearly described blossoms and leaves occupy a setting whose location remains unresolved.
- The photograph shows open roses, closed buds and clipped stems distributed vertically across pale angular masses. A dark upper-right field intensifies the flowers’ exposure, while coral centres carry warmth through the colder blue ground.
- The documented oil-on-canvas medium can support both opaque shapes and gradual tonal transitions. In the photographed work, defined petals and foliage stand against broad, softened fields without forming a continuous natural space.
- The catalogue title, Roses in Snow, directs the abstract foreground toward a wintry reading. Encountered as a 2023 still life, the work tests how a title can convert uncertain painted forms into weather and place fresh growth outside its expected season.
