Pretty Little Fears by Yuser Explore Mondoir Studio Medium: Acrylic on Canvas Dimensions: 113 x 170 cm Year: 2023 Price: $4500.00 USD Status: available Acrylic on Canvas 170x113 cm Why collect this work? The figure’s sharply folded pose turns the bed into a constricting structure, making bodily compression rather than facial expression the painting’s main carrier of fear. The artist profile identifies Yuser Fatena as trained in architecture. That background helps frame the interior here as an active system of boundaries: window, mattress, floor, and dark vertical edges press around the body.In the photograph, the pale garment and blue figure form a bent diagonal against near-black walls, while red flooring and purple bedding divide the lower field. One visible eye counters the body’s inward curl, holding withdrawal and watchfulness together.Catalogue metadata records acrylic on canvas at 113 by 170 cm. Acrylic permits opaque light passages and saturated contrasts; here these properties distinguish the figure from the surrounding darkness without resolving the interior into naturalistic space. For a collection examining contemporary figuration, this painting provides a focused case of how scale, cropped architecture, and altered colour can make fear legible as a spatial condition rather than a narrated event.
