Gold doesn't announce itself. It accumulate, slowly, deliberately, over time. This canvas was built across eighteen months, painted and paused, returned to and reopened. Not because it was unfinished. Because it wasn't ready. The symbols that populate Vi belong to xUEkA's invented visual language, the eye, the diamond, the circle, the triangle, rendered here in gold on deep cobalt blue. Each form insists on its own frequency. Each dot a marker, a breath, a count. Some works carry a name that belongs to someone else. Vi is dedicated to those who see something in us before we see it ourselves, who point, without knowing where we'll end up, and are right anyway. Acrylic on canvas · 120 × 60 cm · xUEkA, 2026
Why collect this work?
Vi organizes difference within strict limits: a narrow palette and recurring dots bind many emblem-like forms together, while shifts in scale, orientation and contour keep the field from resolving into a single system.
- The artist describes his practice as building languages through structure and intuition. In this painting, that concern is evident in signs that resemble a shared alphabet but offer no fixed syntax or translation.
- The photograph shows outlined circles, eyes, hooks, triangles and creature-like configurations packed to the edges. Cropping continues the pattern beyond the frame, while small blue channels preserve separation within the visual density.
- The catalogue records acrylic on canvas, dated 2026, at 60 by 120 cm. Acrylic makes possible the repeated opaque dots and clearly bounded shapes seen in the image; the elongated support spreads their competing rhythms across a broad horizontal field.
- The work provides a focused case for examining how repetition can suggest collective order without standardizing its individual parts. Its signs remain poised between geometry, pictogram and ornament.
