There are days in June that don't ask permission to come in. The sun was already inside when I picked up the brush. Something in the air, a groove that doesn't stop, a tension that isn't discomfort, a heat that pushes without rushing. The symbols appeared like that. Not built. Summoned. The orange is not background. It never was. It's what burns beneath everything that hasn't been said yet. I paint a language that exists in no dictionary, and that at the same time existed before me. Forms that return. Signs that insist. The eye that watches. The diamond that holds. The serpent that connects. None of them are new. All of them are now. This canvas lives in the moment before, before the word finds the concept, before the feeling finds the name, before the summer understands it will end. Seven days are not enough to bloom everything that is ready to grow. But it's enough to know that it will.
