From a distance, the structure becomes clear. A spiral organized from a luminous center. At its core, a sun. Everything radiates from it. Up close, the surface breaks into independent symbols and marks. Step back, and everything aligns, direction, rhythm, coherence. The green tones build depth and continuity. There is no rupture. Only expansion. This work is about origin. About a center that generates movement and holds everything together.
Why collect this work?
By holding a nearly uniform density while steering repeated motifs into broad currents, Origin Field makes the search for an organizing center part of the act of seeing.
- xUEkA states that his process starts with a direction but remains open to unplanned emergence. Here, recurrence supplies discipline without turning the imagery into a fixed alphabet.
- In the photograph, loops, ladders, crosses and compartmented forms press against one another. Dark channels separate them, while small reddish points interrupt the prevailing green and register as scattered pulses rather than a focal event.
- Catalogued as acrylic on canvas, the work uses the medium’s capacity for bounded, opaque shapes. That clarity allows compact signs to remain distinguishable within an exceptionally crowded field.
- At the catalogued scale of 114 by 146 centimeters, the painting sets detailed inspection against whole-field perception. It is pertinent where abstraction is considered as a system that approaches writing yet withholds legibility.
