Deception is an emotional weave of insignificant truth on canvas. In this composition, a lady and a man stand together, the man holding a balloon with a contrasting smile in a perplexing atmosphere. The balloon, as indicated in this composition, is an illusion of truth that carries deception and lies. The balloon can look beautiful and full of life at the beginning but its lifespan is short, thus I symbolize the love the man is showing the woman that time as a short and painful parade of emotional twist which can take away the lady's smile in time to come with the blue pixelated balloon, in the composition I played with light and shadow to symbolize the delicate balance between joy and hidden truth and also to invite viewers to unravel the nuanced emotion within the seemly cheerful scene sparking contamination on the duality of appearances

A narrow, dark vertical band divides the smiling pair while the balloon’s string crosses that boundary, turning an affectionate scene into a study of connection complicated by separation.
- Okunade states that his practice considers women’s experiences and unseen emotions. Here, that concern focuses attention on the woman’s open expression and the partially obscured figure beside her, though the painting does not settle what either person knows.
