The white wedding. In this series, the composition serves as a metaphor for the influence of Western ideals and norms on cultural context. The narrative is that the white wedding symbolizes the imposition of Western values and customs on traditional practices which results in the blending of culture in the holy matrimony. I used this composition to reflect on themes of cultural authenticity, adaptation, and preservation which I am subjecting my audience to seeing the impacts of globalization and colonization in diverse societies while celebrating the richness of cultural diversity and the enduring spirit of tradition in the wedding context.
