Why collect this work?
Four elongated figures are compressed between pale, wavering bands and a dark ground, turning a group portrait into a study of social proximity without intimacy.
- Masri describes her practice as emotionally and morally engaged, with colour carrying meaning. Here, that aim is focused through repeated faces whose similarities make their small differences consequential.
- In the photograph, almond-shaped eyes glance sideways while closed mouths and frontal poses remain guarded. Unequal placement, cropped bodies, high collars and alternating skin tones establish comparison within the group rather than individual likeness.
