In life’s quiet rhythm, two souls entwine in care and trust. He is the knight, her shield of peace. She, the queen, guiding with grace through his realm. They shelter on another – a harbor of safety, wellspring of love, Yet true harmony is reciprocal. Each protects; each is protected….Each loves, each is loved , In this shared breath, equality grows..stronger, gentler…together
Why collect this work?
Two tightly overlapped profiles interrupt a field of fractured planes, turning protection into a question of mutual dependence rather than heroic rescue.
- Masri describes her practice as emotionally and morally oriented, with colour carrying meaning. Here, the paired figures support that aim through closeness rather than overt action.
- In the photograph, repeated spirals visually bind the figures’ hair, while their differently scaled faces look in the same direction. The larger figure shelters without fully enclosing the smaller one, preserving both intimacy and separateness.
- The documented acrylic, metallic acrylic and gold acrylic on canvas permits crisp outlines and broad, opaque colour divisions. Metallic passages may shift with illumination, although this cannot be confirmed from the photograph.
- Dated 2024 and measuring 120 by 80 cm, the painting is a focused encounter with reciprocity: its geometric setting disperses authority across two figures instead of locating it in a single protector.
