Artist Statement

My artistic practice explores themes of identity, memory, displacement, and the emotional landscapes shaped by personal and collective experiences. As a Kurdish artist living in Germany, I draw inspiration from the intersections of cultural heritage, migration, and the search for belonging. Through expressive and surreal imagery, I create visual narratives that reflect both inner emotions and external realities. My work is driven by a desire to transform experiences of loss, resilience, and hope into symbolic forms. Figures, textures, and layered compositions become a language through which I explore human vulnerability, strength, and connection. Rather than offering fixed interpretations, I invite viewers to engage with the work through their own emotions and experiences. For me, painting is a space of freedom—a place where memory, imagination, and identity can coexist beyond boundaries.
