"Your New Face" is a penetrating, mordant study of the masks we craft and the selves we bury. The painting presents a portrait that is not one, but two—a haunting duality rendered in a palette of cold porcelain whites and subterranean blacks. Acrylic on canvas, 40*50 cm (15,7''*19,7'') Signed on the front and back by the artist. Stretched and ready to hang. A certificate of Authenticity signed and dated by the artist will be included in the package.
Why collect this work?
In the supplied photograph, a rabbit and clustered flowers share the same pale, directional marks, bringing animal and plant forms into visual proximity without dissolving their differences.
- The artist states that she is interested in transitional moments, including animals becoming flowers. Here, that intention is legible in the rhyming contours of ears, petals, leaves, and fur, although the rabbit remains recognizable.
- The rabbit occupies the centre while flowers press inward from the lower and right edges. Its single highlighted eye anchors the near-black composition, and the crowded framing makes a gentle subject appear alert and enclosed.
- Catalogued as acrylic on canvas, the painting uses fine pale strokes against dense darkness. In the photograph, restrained blue accents distinguish the flowers while carrying light across both botanical and animal forms.
- The title, Your New Face, shifts the image beyond straightforward animal portraiture. Within the documented series The Limits of Subjective Reality, the work provides a focused case for considering identity through resemblance and partial transformation rather than human likeness.
