A house emerges faintly from dense green growth, with tulips rising from its indistinct silhouette. Architecture and vegetation seem to share the same living structure, blurring the boundary between a place and what grows from its memory. The house remains present, even as its familiar form begins to disappear. Acrylic, oil pastel on canvas, 70*100 cm (27,6''*39,4'') Signed on the front and back by the artist. A certificate of Authenticity signed and dated by the artist will be included in the package.
Why collect this work?
A pale, peaked house remains barely legible as flowers and dark descending runs absorb its structure, making absence appear as partial visibility rather than empty space.
- Viaznikova states that she focuses on transitional states in which one form retains traces of another. Here, the house stays recognizable without separating cleanly from the surrounding growth.
- In the photograph, four blue flower heads punctuate the misty upper field. Their narrow stems lead toward a dense lower band, where repeated vertical runs make vegetation resemble supports, roots, or a building in dissolution.
- The catalogue identifies acrylic and oil pastel on canvas. This mixed medium can accommodate both broad painted areas and drawn accents, although the photograph does not establish which material produced any particular mark or surface effect.
- Within the documented Invisible Presence series, this painting gives memory a concrete visual problem: the obscured house persists because the plants overtake and restate its silhouette. It can anchor an encounter with how recognition survives incomplete images.
