Abstract Soul of Kabul by Naemat Wardak Explore Mondoir Studio Medium: Oil on Canvas Dimensions: 50 x 60 cm Year: 2026 Price: $7980.00 USD Status: available The Abstract Soul of Kabul is my personal reflection on a city I carry in memory. I use oil on canvas and fragmented geometric forms to break Kabul into pieces buildings, mountains, paths, and floating spheres that feel like memories suspended in time. The vivid colors represent the life and beauty that still exist beneath the city’s history of conflict and loss. The winding path suggests Kabul’s uncertain journey, while the mountains remain as silent witnesses. I wanted this painting to show that Kabul is more than its wounds, its spirit is still alive. Why collect this work?A white path bends from the lower edge into a city split by vertical bands, making remembered Kabul legible as a route whose continuity is repeatedly interrupted. Wardak identifies the subject as Kabul carried in memory. His statement says fragmented geometry helps rebuild experiences he cannot fully verbalize, clarifying why this is not presented as geographic record. In the supplied photograph, mountains and modelled spheres sit among flattened façades, dark apertures and a suspended red polyhedron. Their conflicting scales make landscape, architecture and imagined objects coexist without forming a stable place.Catalogue metadata records oil on canvas. Here, opaque colour fields meet gradual shading, allowing diagram-like divisions and rounded volume to occupy the same composition, although surface texture cannot be verified from the photograph. The painting provides a focused encounter with how a named city can be pictured through recollection rather than topography. Its fractures hold Kabul’s buildings, terrain and symbolic forms in unresolved relation. About the ArtistNaemat Wardak Naemat Wardak is an artist on Mondoir Studio. Artistic discipline: painting.
