Why collect this work?
A dark branch crosses a broad pale-blue field, turning a familiar blossom motif into a study of how sparse marks can hold an expansive surface.
- Gonzalez describes colour as a language for positivity and sensitivity. Here, that intention is tempered by the branch’s asymmetry and the large intervals of open ground, which keep the image from becoming simply decorative.
