This painting reflects the inner contradiction that exists in many of us. The two-headed lamb stands for opposing thoughts, feelings, or identities that share the same body. It’s about the discomfort of being pulled in different directions — emotionally, mentally, or even morally. The marks on their foreheads hint at personal history, beliefs, or scars that make each side unique, even when they belong to the same whole.

A two-headed lamb is compressed into a small circular field, turning bodily impossibility into a concise image of division held within one form.
- Poluna describes her practice as addressing tension, vulnerability, and confinement. Here, that concern is concentrated in an animal body whose shared torso prevents either head from becoming independent.
- The photograph shows a pale lamb facing in two directions against near-black ground. Its centered, frontal body suggests unity, while the diverging heads and distinct forehead marks establish difference. The artist identifies these marks with history, belief, or scars, an intended symbolism rather than a fixed reading.
