They see me still and call it peace, but stillness doesn’t always mean calm. What they don’t see is the storm stitched beneath my skin, the war I fight in silence, the screams that never dare to escape. I’m expected to be quiet, to endure, to blend into the background like a fading whisper. But inside, something wild refuses to die. I bend. I crack. I break. And then something in me whispers, “shed.” So I do.. not for beauty, but to survive. I’m still fighting, still surviving… not with loud cries, but with quiet strength. And in this survival, I am finding a language of my own.
Why collect this work?
A kneeling figure is held between composure and pressure: the circular outline stabilises the scene, while an oversized serpent crosses the face and torso, making apparent stillness difficult to read as peace.
- Liapsart describes an intuitive practice of digital compositing and painting shaped by observed and personal emotion. Here, vivid luminosity carries that stated intensity, although the image leaves its meaning unresolved.
- The supplied image shows a frontal, symmetrical body against a star field, cracked ground and flowering plants. The serpent blocks the figure’s gaze and binds the upper body, creating ambiguity between protection, burden and transformation.
- Catalogued as Photoshop, the work uses abrupt shifts of scale and synthetic illumination to join figure, animal and cosmic setting. Digital construction makes their improbable proximity appear internally coherent rather than naturalistic.
- This work gives a collection of contemporary digital allegory a precise case of emotional conflict conveyed through bodily arrangement. Its unresolved serpent complicates the artist’s stated theme of survival by making renewal and constraint occupy the same form.
